Changelog
What’s new
Every Mastery Lite release and what it changed. Updates arrive in the app automatically. This is the running record.
- Fix: the Default models menus fill the panel. In Settings → Agents → Default models, the menus showed as a narrow box or as a plain white list, depending on whether an agent window had been opened. They now match the other Settings fields.
- Fix: the Open chip finds files in a subfolder. When an agent named a file like
images/room.png, the chip under its reply dropped the folder and opened an image window that said "Couldn't load". The chip now keeps the whole path, reads bare file names and paths in backticks, and still works after the app restarts. An image link no longer gets a second, broken chip.
- Fix: the Browser says when a site wants your own browser. Shops like kavehome.com check for a real browser, and the pane reported that as rate limiting with a Retry that could never work. It now says what happened and offers Open in your browser. A refused page (403) gets the same button.
- New Codex models show up after an update. Codex windows now list the models Codex itself offers your account, read again whenever the menu opens, so a model a Codex update brings shows up straight away. GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol, GPT-6 Luna and GPT-6.1 Sol never reached the menu before, because it only accepted GPT-5 models.
- Default models. Settings → Agents → Default models picks the model each agent runs when a window hasn't chosen one, and Make default on a new model sets it in one click. The model menu now says which model "default" runs.
- Fix: the model menu lists the newest models first. New models in an agent window's model menu are now ordered by release date, not by the number in their name. Grok 4.20, released in March, was marked · new and listed above Grok 4.7 from September, because 20 is more than 7; it is no longer offered as new, since it is older than the Grok models Mastery Lite ships with.
- Know when your agents get a new model. When a model comes out for one of your agents (Claude Opus 5.5 today), a number appears on the Settings gear. Settings → Agents → New for your agents lists it, and Use on N windows switches every window on that agent to it. Each window's model menu now also offers newly released models, marked · new; before, it only ever showed the models the app shipped with.
- A Sign in button on signed-out agent windows. The window header used to only print the command to run. It now has a Sign in button that opens a real console running that command for you, with the app's own install folder on its path, so a Claude Code or Codex installed from inside the app is found. The signed-out message points at the button first.
- Fix: renaming a workspace keeps one folder.
rename workspace to <name> used to create a second folder and split the workspace's files between the two. The existing folder is now renamed in place, and everything in it follows.
- The mic says when it is listening. Turning dictation on shows a short notice with how to stop it (click the mic again, or say "mic off"). A stray click near the text box used to arm the mic with only a red dot to show for it.
- Text files open as readable pages.
go to <file>.md or .txt showed a blank page; it now renders as wrapped text.
- A mistyped command is answered, not sent to an agent. "maximize files" used to become an agent task. Short window-shaped phrases that match nothing now point to
open commands; rename workspace to <name> works, and renaming a window is untouched.
- Your windows stop sliding off-screen. The canvas could quietly shift sideways - not the camera you pan with, the surface underneath it - and nothing ever put it back. After that, Tidy, Grid, Focus and every other layout arranged your windows into a part of the canvas you were no longer looking at, so tidying up could look like it had thrown your work away; the glass blur could also sit over empty space where a window appeared to be. It happened after something as ordinary as clicking into a window, it could happen with Mastery Lite in the background while you were streaming, and it survived until you dragged the canvas back by hand. Every container the canvas sits in is pinned now, and a guard checks a few times a second that nothing has shifted them.
- The help inside the app has been rewritten. Mastery Lite is described as an Agentic OS rather than an agent development environment: it runs your agents as long-lived processes with one command bar over them, a live spend meter, an audit log, and the browser, boards and previews on the same canvas. All 115 help pages have been repunctuated at the same time.
- Streaming Mode's first-time layout no longer runs into upgrade prompts. The first time you went live, Mastery Lite tried to build its stream layout out of a Sprint Board and a cloud agent - neither of which Lite includes - so you got upgrade prompts and a layout with gaps in it, live, on camera. It now builds that layout from what Lite actually has: an agent on a local model, a Preview window and a Terminal. If you have already been live once, your saved stream layout is kept as-is; Settings > Streaming > Reset streaming layout loads the corrected one.
- OBS control works. Connecting to OBS Studio, scene switching, and the privacy-scene guard that jumps your stream away when a window holding secrets opens - none of it could connect in an installed build, only when running from source. That is fixed, so the OBS section in Settings > Streaming does what it says.
